Evacuated Ukrainian activist works to return to Kherson

Reconnecting in times of crises: House Treff 2022

For three days in September, representatives of the network of Human Rights Houses met in Vilnius, Lithuania for House Treff 2022. This event marked the first time that the Houses were able to reconnect in-person following several years of unprecedented world events. On 24 October 2022, Human Rights House Foundation co-organised a side event ahead of the start of the First Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform. The event focused on the deteriorating human rights situation in occupied Crimea following the launch of renewed Russian aggression against Ukraine in February 2022.

Marking six months since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine

Six months after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Human Rights House Foundation repeats its condemnation of Russian aggression against Ukraine and ensuing human rights crisis. HRHF also renews its call on UN Human Rights Council member states to establish a Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in Russia.

HRC50 summary: Pushing for action on crisis in Eastern Europe and advocating for stronger international human rights standards

At the 50th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, Human Rights House Foundation continued its work calling on the Human Rights Council to take action on the human rights crisis in Eastern Europe characterised, in part, by the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, and the increasingly dire human rights situation in Belarus.
