Georgia’s “foreign influence” law: Implications & recommendations

On 28 May 2024, the Georgian Parliament adopted the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence, inspired by the Russian authoritarian-style “foreign agent” legislation. HRHF and partners from Human Rights House Tbilisi have developed this briefer underlining the main concerns regarding the practical effect of the foreign influence law on the Georgian civil society organisations and lays out recommendations for Georgia’s human rights and democracy partners internationally.

Rights of Defenders: 20 standards and principles related to the rights of human rights defenders

In 2023, Human Rights House Foundation launched an update to the Rights of Defenders booklet. The update coincides with the 25th anniversary of the 1998 UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders and the updated booklet expands on the original 16 standards that we first published in 2018.

The Sunflower Declaration

Human Rights House Foundation co-signs the Sunflower Declaration that was launched by Nobel Peace Prize laureates at the Nobel Peace Conference in Oslo on 31 August 2023. The Declaration calls for urgent action to protect human rights defenders at risk.
