Human Rights House Foundation joins eleven organisations lead by Amnesty International calling for the Belarusian authorities to end reprisals against human rights defenders.

On 16 March 2021, Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) issued a statement at the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council calling for a stop to criminal investigations and raids of human rights defenders homes and their organisations, as well as a stop to the coordinated and on-going attacks on journalists.

Human Rights House Foundation joins five organisations lead by International Commission of Jurists Norway in an appeal for the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs to freeze all transfer of Norway Grants under the EEA agreement to the Ministry of Justice in Poland and entities dependent on the Ministry.

On 15 March 2021, Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) issued a statement at the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council urging Council members to take urgent and concerted action to confront Russia on its abysmal and deteriorating human rights record.

Human Rights House Foundation condemns the latest attacks against women human rights defenders in Azerbaijan, including the abhorrent practise of targeting their privacy. We call on the Azerbaijani authorities to immediately stop the violations of the freedom of assembly and expression of their citizens, as well as to take steps to ensure the protection of all human rights defenders, including women human rights defenders and young human rights defenders.

On 2 March 2021, Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) was among 13 international NGOs calling on the UN Human Rights Council to create a new mechanism assisting in the process of accountability for human rights violations in Belarus. The NGOs also outlined several key elements that a new mechanism should contain.

On 25 February 2021, Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) and Amnesty International pushed the Human Rights Council to take further action on Belarus. Alongside Belarusian civil society organisations, they urged the Council in a joint oral statement, to create a mechanism assisting in the process of accountability for human rights violations.

Human Rights House Foundation and Human Rights House Tbilisi condemn recent actions by the Georgian authorities to limit freedoms of expression and assembly, linked with the political crisis which has engulfed the country during past months. We call on the Georgian authorities to reverse these recent actions and take immediate steps to protect human rights in line with Georgia’s international obligations.
