The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has rendered judgments identifying the politically motivated prosecution of sixteen different people in Azerbaijan. So far, only two of these judgments have been implemented – and only in regard to individual measures. The European Implementation Network has joined with eight other NGOs including Human Rights House Foundation to highlight this ongoing situation and call for urgent action.

“It was in spring 2020, during the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, when I started feeling that the situation was changing… Belarusians were changing.”

Civic Solidarity Platform (CSP) has issued a statement on the OSCE Moscow Mechanism report on Belarus calling for the international community to undertake effective and coordinated actions to implement its recommendations. The statement is signed by several CSP member organisations including Human Rights House Foundation.

For weeks we have been following the protests against Alexander Lukashenko’s regime in Belarus. Before us, we see a repetition of the large, seemingly leaderless demonstrations in recent years around the world — from Tahrir Square in Cairo, to the democracy riots in Hong Kong and Black Lives Matter in the United States, to the undulating crowd in Minsk.

Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) is deeply troubled by the serious allegations made by former members of the Youth Human Rights Movement (YHRM) against the former leadership of the organisation, published by the online media outlet 7×7 on 8 October 2020.

In September, the Russian city of Ufa became the fifth in the country to host the “City of Rights/City is Right” festival. For three days, participants engaged in human rights events and activities including the unveiling of a monument celebrating the universal declaration of human rights.
