On 13 July 2021, the UN Human Rights Council extended the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus, following calls by Belarusian and international human rights organisations. Designations of “undesirable organisations” by Russia must end
In a joint statement, forty human rights NGOs, including HRHF, from across the OSCE region denounce the continuing inclusion of foreign civil society organisations in the list of so-called “undesirable” organisations by Russia. This “harms international people-to-people contacts and collaboration, one of the principles of the European cooperation and security order based on the 1975 Helsinki Final Act”, the NGOs say.
