HRHF statement at Human Rights Council meeting on Ukraine
On 18 December 2020, Human Rights House Foundation issued a statement during the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ oral update on Ukraine. In the statement, HRHF highlighted the situation for political prisoners in Crimea as well as raising the question as to what Ukrainian authorities can do to assist and protect Belarusians who have fled Belarus to escape the on-going crisis there.

#StopSLAPPs: Coalition calls on EU to take action against gag lawsuits targeting watchdogs.
Human Rights House Foundation is among 60 organisations jointly calling for the EU to take action against SLAPPs – the gag lawsuits silencing journalists, activists and human rights defenders across Europe. The coalition of organisations today endorses the Model EU Anti-SLAPP Directive ahead of the European Commission’s launch of its European Democracy Action Plan (EDAP).
We don’t want to be sued into silence
More and more journalists and civil society organisations are being sued by powerful businessmen and politicians. We call on the EU to ensure those with a watchdog role are protected from gag lawsuits. Joint statement on non-implementation of ECHR judgments against Azerbaijan
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has rendered judgments identifying the politically motivated prosecution of sixteen different people in Azerbaijan. So far, only two of these judgments have been implemented – and only in regard to individual measures. The European Implementation Network has joined with eight other NGOs including Human Rights House Foundation to highlight this ongoing situation and call for urgent action.
