Letter to Lukashenka

New organizations

The Helsinki Citizen’s Assembly Sarajevo and NGO Information and Support Center have left their offices at the Human Rights House of Sarajevo due to financial problems. Two new organizations have moved in: The women’s organization “Zene zenama” and Association of Citizens “Youth Against AIDS.” (February, 2002)

Racism on bus

The Norwegian People’s Aid in Bergen reacted strongly on the incident that occurred on a bus in Bergen January 17th. 30 asylum seekers from Vestlandsheimen refugee camp were left at the bus stop while a Norwegian passenger was allowed on board the bus. (February, 2002)

Recommendations to Norway in the Security Council

Norway is a member of the UN Security Council from 2001 to 2003, and is President in March. Fourteen Norwegian human rights NGO’s have made a number of recommendations to the Norwegian Foreign Minister, Mr. Jan Petersen, on a number of issues of vital importance to international peace and security.
