Belarusian State University political science program alumni consider the expulsion of a Young Front press-secretary Tatsiana Shaputska (on picture right) “a dirty stain on the image of Law Faculty of BSU. The student was thrown out after participation in the Eastern Partnership forum outside Belarus” without asking a required permission to leave the country from the deans.

Human Rights Defenders Celebrate International Human Rights Day

Azeri human rights defenders gathered for an advance celebration of the International Human Rights Day at the Human Rights House Republic of Azerbaijan today. Representatives of OSCE, Council of Europe, and the embassies of Norway and UK attended the event to show their solidarity and support and congratulate the defenders.

Burma: political prisoner on hunger strike

Kyaw Zaw Lwin (a.k.a. Nyi Nyi Aung), right, a political prisoner in Burma’s notorious Insein Prison, is currently on hunger strike. 40-year-old Lwan, who was born in Burma but is a naturalized US citizen, is protesting his loss even of ordinary prisoner’s rights.

MWRC participates in regional fight against domestic violence

Macedonian Women’s Right Center – MWRC – took part in the conference organized by UNIFEM’s Regional Office for Central and Eastern Europe in the end of November in Sarajevo. The aim of the conference was to improve the effectiveness and accountability when assisting in protection of victims of domestic violence in Central and Eastern Europe.
