Systemic patterns of violations of the right to freedom of association in OSCE-region
We firmly denounces systemic patterns of violations of the right to freedom of association, which serves the sole purpose of harassing, prosecuting and imprisoning critical voices, including human rights defenders in various countries of the OSCE-region, including the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
Belarusian NGOs sent its report as part of the Universal Periodic Review to the UN
Report, presented to the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights provides an overview of situation with the human rights in Belarus. Human rights defenders have expressed anxiety about the lack of real progress on key problem spheres of human rights in the country,
noting concrete steps of the implementation of the recommendations made and accepted by Belarus in the first cycle of the UPR.
Photo exhibition “Revolution of dignity – in the heart of the events”
On 26 September at 15.00 in the Barys Zvozskau Belarusian Human Rights House (Vilnius, Latako g.3) the photo exhibition “Revolution of dignity – in the heart of the events” will be opened, where the pictures of Kiev protests of the late 2013- early 2014 from a photographer Marianna Hardy (Chernihiv, Ukraine) will be presented.
OSCE released the protocol of negotiations in Minsk
Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe has published the text of the Protocol, based on the results of consultations of the Trilateral contact group regarding joint steps towards implementation of the Peace Plan of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and initiatives of President of Russia Vladimir Putin, that has been signed on 5 September in Minsk.
UN Human Rights Committee takes five new decisions concerning Belarus
At the 111th session, held 7-25 July, the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations considered five new cases concerning Belarus and issued decisions confirming the violation by the Government of Belarus of certain rights of Belarusian citizens.
New graduates of BISH project – the future of human rights community in Belarus
On 15-17 August Vilnius hosted final session of the third cycle of the project “Bring International Standards Home” (BISH), which is implemented within the framework of the “International Law in Advocacy” program. About 30 graduates received diplomas and certificates of participation in the training course.

Participants of the “International Law in Advocacy” program prepared a statement on the situation with detention of Intigam Aliyev and arrests of human rights defenders in Azerbaijan. The statement was approved within the framework of the final session of the “Bring International Standards Home” project and signed by human right lawyers and advocates. The authors of the statement call upon all those concerned to join the wider campaign to support and fight for the liberation of Intigam Aliyev and other political prisoners.
