HRC45: Human rights in Georgia
On 5 October 2020, Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) delivered a statement at the Human Rights Council on the human rights situation in Georgia. In the statement, HRHF and Human Rights House Tbilisi delivered recommendations to the Council calling for the High Commissioner to focus on issues affecting human rights defenders in the country. We also called on Georgia to protect and publicly support its human rights defenders.
HRC 45: Human rights in Crimea and mainland Ukraine
On 1 October 2020, Human Rights House Foundation delivered a statement at the Human Rights Council highlighting the situation of seven Crimean political prisoners including Server Mustafayev. The issue of attacks on journalists and bloggers across Ukraine was also raised.

HRC45: HRHF statement on reprisals
On 20 September 2020, Human Rights House Foundation delivered a statement at the Human Rights Council on reprisals. In the statement, HRHF highlighted the use of the Foreign Agent law to undermine independent civil society, and the climate of fear that is maintained in Russia and the external territories it occupies through a variety of state-controlled tools including the misuse of anti-extremist and anti-terrorist legislation.
HRHF statement on recent escalation of conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region
Human Rights House Foundation is concerned with reports of renewed hostilities along the line of contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh region which have resulted in dozens of reported deaths and serious injuries to many more. We urgently call for the de-escalation of violence and rhetoric and remind all sides that efforts to resolve the conflict must incorporate a human rights-based approach that is normatively based on international human rights standards and operationally directed toward promoting and protecting human rights.
HRC45: HRHF Statement on Universal Periodic Review of Armenia
On 28 September 2020, Human Rights House Foundation delivered a statement at the Human Rights Council on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process of Armenia. In the statement, HRHF and Human Rights House Yerevan jointly called for the Armenian authorities to publicly support human rights defenders, to conduct independent investigations into attacks against defenders, and to compile statistics on attacks on defenders, along with information related to their investigations.
