As part of the International Day of Solidarity with the civil society of Belarus on 4 August the action in support of Belarusian political prisoners will be held in Vilnius. It was on 4 August 2011 when a prominent Belarusian human rights defender Ales Bialiatski was arrested in Minsk. At least 6 political prisoners remain imprisoned in Belarus and there is no guarantee that there will be no new cases of political persecution in the light of the upcoming Presidential Elections in Belarus scheduled for 11 of October.
