International observers give Norwegian parliamentary elections a pass
-We are deeply impressed with the standard of Norwegian elections, said the 28 election observers from Central Asia and Caucasus at a press conference at the Norwegian Human Rights House yesterday. -The voting took place in a calm and orderly manner, demonstrating that all actors wanted the procedure to be carried out the best way possible. Segregation and apartheid at work
The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina has, on a number of occasions, appealed against the devastating separation of school-age children based on ethnicity. Despite all activities and appeals, the problem has escalated at the beginning of this school year, to the extent that we now have a practice of open segregation and apartheid in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Human Rights House Network meeting in Baku
Representatives from established and emerging Human Rights Houses in ten countries are gathered in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, 7-10 September to strengthen support to and cooperation with Azeri human rights defenders. UN Special Representative for human rights defenders, Hina Jilani, (right) will also attend the meetings, held in partnership with OSCE, ISHR and the Swedish Helsinki Committee. (06-SEP-05)

Beslan, year one
The investigation of the Beslan terrorist act is still not finished. It opened new facts which leave in doubt official facts and discredits the actions of the government. Eye witness evidence shows that there were more terrorists in the school then the Prosecutor’s facts say. Knowing this: who is responsible for arresting the rest of the terrorists, and are the proper authorities looking for them?
