The Russian-Chechen Friendship Society is excluded from OSCE meeting

13 September 2007 in Vienna the Russian-Chechen Friendship Society was excluded from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) – Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights – meeting. The USA delegation left the session in protest. The human rights society is outraged by this fact, because, first of all, it violates the right to express their opinion avowedly. (24-SEP-07)

Shirin Ebadi endorses the Human Rights House Network

During her recent visit to Oslo, the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi welcomed the opportunity to write a letter of endorsement to the Human Rights House Network. Her letter concludes: -I wish good luck and success for all of those who work for the Human Rights House Network and endorse their activities. The success of the HRH Network is our success. Russian-Chechen Friendship Society excluded from OSCE meeting

Last week, on 13 September,  the Russian-Chechen Friendship Society (RCFS) was excluded from the meeting in Vienna of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) – Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. The USA delegation left the session in protest. The international human rights society is outraged, because, first of all, it violates the right of the RCFS´s to express its opinion. (24-SEP-07)

People with HIV/AIDS have no access to treatment

The group of people with HIV/AIDS has made a request to the Ministry of Health to resume the access to the necessary medicine for the HIVAIDS patients in Svetlogorsk and Gomel. The reasons of the ARV-therapy delivery break are still not clear. This request was addressed for the Minister of Health Vasily Zharko on the September 14 (22-SEP-07)

Norwegian authorities congratulate the winner of the 2007 Rafto Prize

“We congratulate The National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights on being awarded the prestigious 2007 Rafto Prize. This has put the Dalit cause on the agenda,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister of International Development Erik Solheim.

Seminar on the situation in different parts of Kurdistan

The Norwegian Council for the Rights of the Kurds (RKR) is currently hosting guests from different parts of Kurdistan. Thursday 27 September at 1 pm, RKR invites to a seminar at the Human Rights House in Oslo, in which these guests play key roles, all representing regions where Kurds make up significant ethnic and national minorities.
