Our ‘Woman of courage’

Veronika Marchenko, the Head of Russian NGO Mother’s Right Foundation (Russian Research Center for Human Rights/ Moscow HRH), became a recipient of the third annual Secretary of State’s Award for International Women of Courage. The Award recognizes the courage and leadership shown as women struggle for social justice and human rights.

Northern Ugandan women send open letter to Museveni and Kony

-As you know, says the letter, signed by 25o organisations, -the people of the Greater North have suffered in this conflict. Over 1 million of us have been displaced from our homes, much violence and brutality has occurred, we have not been able to farm our land, grow our crops, we have not been able to educate our children. CPJ calls for China to release Tibetan journalists and allow foreign reporting

HURINET Uganda issues statement on the arrest order of Sudenese president
