Падчас дыскусіяў у камфортных умовах віленскага гатэля, удзельнікі другога Форуму часцяком прыгадвалі форум першы, што праходзіў у 2004 годзе ў лесе пад Мінскам ва ўмовах, блізкіх да экстрэмальных.
NHC raises issues of human rights at OSCE Review conference in Warsaw
The Human Dimension Session of the 2010 OSCE Review conference takes place in Warsaw from 30 September – 8 October 2010. The conference gives an opportunity for non-governmental organizations to raise issues of democracy and human rights in plenary sessions of the representatives of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) participating states. Norwegian Helsinki Committee (NHC) will actively use this possibility.
UN Human Rights Council decides to appoint new Special Rapporteur
Today, the United Nations’ Human Rights Council adopted a resolution on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. The resolution not only recognizes that these freedoms are essential components of democracy, but also pays attention to their importance to the full enjoyment of civil and political rights, and economic, social and cultural rights.
Human rights court finds Azerbaijan guilty of disrespecting election results
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has found Republic of Azerbaijan guilty of violating the rights of Flora Karimova, an erstwhile joint candidate of the “Azadlig” Election Bloc, a coalition of major opposition parties for the 2005 parliamentary elections.
EuroPride in Warsaw
Equality Parade organised as a part of the international event “EuroPride” took place in Warsaw on the day of 17 July 2010. Ten representatives from the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights were present at the pride and were observing the course of the pride as well as actions taken by the Police.

На трэці дзень штогадовай канферэнцыі, што ладзіцца ў Беларускім ДПЧ у Вільні ўдзельнікаў чакала спецыяльная канферэнцыя, прысвечаная сітуацыі з правамі чалавека ў Беларусі і краінах Балтыі. Больш за 20 выступоўцаў, а таксама шырокая аўдыторыя мерапрыемства сталі вырашальнымі: прысутныя атрымалі шмат інфармацыі, выходзячай за межы “агульнай”.

Tackling the Problems of the Health Care in Polish Prisons – New Project of HFHR
This month Helsinki Foundation For Human Rights began its new program addressing the issues of medical care in prisons. Within the frames of a Law Clinic, run by students and supervised by professionals, interventions are planned to be taken. The program will also include lectures and seminars, as well as strategic litigation.
Five billion people in the world have the right to information
In 2010 the right to information has been realised for five billion people and growing. However, over half the countries of the world have not yet adopted right to information laws and many that have done so have failed to implement them adequately. Marking Right to Know Day 2010, organisation Article 19 promotes the right to information around the world.
