The human rights situation in Belarus “is still difficult and remains of a great concern.” This is stated in the report, which was prepared by Justas Paleckis, the rapporteur of the European Parliament (EP) Delegation for relations with Belarus , for the Council of the EU, the European Commission and the External Action Service.

The name has been changed in honour of the prominent human rights defender, co-founder and the first president of the Belarusian Human Rights House, who has passed away in 2012 after a serious and long illness.

Назва змененая ў гонар выбітнога праваабаронцы, аднаго з заснавальнікаў і першага прэзідэнта Беларускага Дома правоў чалавека, які у 2012 годзе памер пасля цяжкай і доўгай хваробы.
