The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights has been nominated for the second time to serve the function of the National Focal Point in the European RAXEN network, which gathers information on the subject matter of racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, Islam phobia and anti-Roman activity. It will serve this function until the end of 2004. (17-JUN-04)
“RAXEN” (Racism and Xenophobia Network) was established by the European Racism and Xenophobia Monitoring Centre.
RAXEN operates as part of the National Focal Points (NFP), which are active in all the Member States of the European Union. The main tasks of the NFP include gathering information on the subject matter of racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-Roman behaviour and Islam phobia, as well as co-operation with organisations, institutions and scientific establishments, which deal with these issues, both in their own countries, as well as abroad. The National Focal Points also participate in various projects initiated by the EUMC, such as comparative research and round table discussions realised on the European level.
