Nurse from Norway goes to Ethiopia
Kamilla Lehrmann (30) from Oslo goes to Somali region of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on her first mission with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). For the next six months she is going to assist people with primary health care in the MSF Wellness Center in the Ethiopian city of Imey.

Ease restrictions on Sahrawi – Human Rights Watch
The international human rights body has called on Moroccan authorities to cease a ban on foreign travel against selected Sahrawi activists, saying it hampers the freedom of movement. Human Rights Watch (HRW) said since August 2009, the government has revived an arbitrary and repressive measure, which it had used frequently more than a decade ago to bar Sahrawis’ from traveling abroad.
Somalia: 66 women and children injured
Brutal contentions affect the Somali capital Mogadishu again. Since Friday, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has placed 89 people with shell damage to their hospital in the town Daynile. 66 of these are women and children. -This testifies a total lack of respect for civilians’ safety. All parties are to blame for so many being killed and wounded, said information officer at MSF, Siv Mjaaland.
Rafto Prize: Call for nominations
Voluntary organisations, institutions and individuals worldwide are welcome to nominate candidates for the 2010 Rafto Prize for Human Rights. The Rafto Prize, awarded in memory of Norwegian professor Thorolf Rafto, is awarded to an individual or organisation that embodies and upholds the principles of the Human Rights Charter through activism or engagement.
Rafto Prize ceremony
The prize will be delivered to the Laureate selected by the Rafto Prize Committee and announced on 23 September 2010 in Bergen. A recipient should be an active participant in the struggle for the ideals and principles underlying the Human Rights Charter, or be an embodying symbol of these. A recipient may be a person or an organisation, and two or more recipients may share the prize.
