Nepal to deport Tibetan exiles
In an attempt to satisfy the People´s Republic of China, Nepal has announced its intentions to deport the 6.000 Tibetan refugees who have entered Nepal illegally or have never been granted a refugee certificate. The figure equals 30% of the 20.000 Tibetan refugees living in four camps in Pokhara, Nepal, right. (17-Sep-08)

On the eve of upcoming presidential elections the freedom of assembly has deteriorated even on the level of conducting the round tables as almost all the press centers are suddenly “closed for repairs”, small parks are surrounded by decorative walls for “repairs” and even the political forums on internet sites are prohibited until elections.

Kurdish prisoners of conscience and death row prisoners on hunger strike
Amnesty International is concerned about more than 50 imprisoned members of Iran’s Kurdish minority who are currently on hunger strike in prison in protest against continuing torture, executions and other gross abuses of human rights. Murder of Magomed Evloev
31 August Magomed Evloev he owner of an opposition website “Ingushetia.ru” as killed. Evloev died in a hospital of Nazran where he was taken after he had got a direct injury to the head, which he received during detention by law enforcement officers at the airport “Magas” in Nazran where he arrived from Moscow. Lord’s Resistance Army accused of abuses in northeast DR Congo
Local human rights activists have released a list of abuses allegedly committed by the Lord’s Resistance Army, right, inside the DRC over the last year. “Our investigations, which are continuing, show that there were eight killings, 52 abductions, of which 11 cases involved girls under the age of 18, and nine rapes,” said Benoit Kinalebu, a Catholic priest and head of the Dungu branch of the Justice and Peace Commission.
Poland investigates allegations of secret CIA prison on its own territory
Last week the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed that the head prosecutor of the country is investigating the issue of a secret CIA prison on Polish territory during the period from 2002-2005. Polish politicians had persistently denied the existence of any illegal CIA detention site, where possibly Islamic terrorists were illegally kept and tortured. (09-SEP-08)
