Russian journalists awarded with “Free Press of Eastern Europe” prize

Germany’s Gerd Bucerius Foundation has announced the winners of its “Free Press of Eastern Europe” prize – a prestigious award conferred on journalists for their commitment to the principles of free reporting. The list includes the names of two Russian journalists – Zoya Svetova and Roman Shleinov.

Northern Ugandan women send open letter to Museveni and Kony

-As you know, says the letter, signed by 25o organisations, -the people of the Greater North have suffered in this conflict. Over 1 million of us have been displaced from our homes, much violence and brutality has occurred, we have not been able to farm our land, grow our crops, we have not been able to educate our children. HURINET Uganda issues statement on the arrest order of Sudenese president
