After World War II, the world said: Never again! Never again will there be concentration camps in the world. But right now hundreds of thousands people are sitting locked up in North Korean concentration camps. North Korea is a country where human rights are simply non- existent. Around 200 000 people are jailed in concentration camps. A few manage to escape, although the broken lives of refugees are difficult to repair and life in exile is not satisfactory.
The film is produced by Piraya Film, the Norwegian film company, in cooperation with the Rafto Foundation. Yodok is the third film in the Rafto Human Rights Series.
For dates and times check local cinemas. Yodok will be shown at cinemas in ten cities across Norway, including Bergen and Oslo.
