The Forum will focus on the current situation in the domestic human rights movement, the human rights situation in Belarus and in the former Soviet Union and possible action strategy of the Belarusian human rights defenders. Parallel thematic sessions will be held during the forum.
The current Organizing Committee of the Forum is comprised of the Human Rights Center “Viasna”, the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, The Barys Zvozskau Belarusian Human Rights House, the Legal Transformation Center, the Belarusian Association of Journalists, the Committee to protect the repressed “Salidarnasc”, the Belarusian Documentation Centre and the Assembly of Belarusian Pro-Democratic NGOs. The technical organizer of the Forum is The Barys Zvozskau Belarusian Human Rights House. This event continues the tradition established by previous Belarusian Human Rights Defender Forums held in 2004 and 2010.
The working languages of the Forum are Belarusian, English and Russian (simultaneous translation).
