Call for applications: Creation of South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders

The South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders’ will link watch-dog human rights NGOs in the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia) and provide assistance to those human rights defenders who face challenges in their work.

The network is for non-governmental organizations. Those NGOs registered in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia can apply. Individuals are not eligible for a membership. NGOs interested in membership should send a letter indicating reasons for applying and brief description of the organizations (aim/priorities of the organization, organizational structure, list of the implemented projects for the last two years and future plans. This shall not exceed five pages) no later than 15th of January to the following e-mail: network.caucasus@gmail.com

Human rights defender Anar Mammadli is the latest victim of Azerbaijan’s intensified crackdown against civil society: Mammadli should be released immediately

We, the undersigned human rights organisations, condemn in strongest possible terms the Azerbaijani authorities’ detention of Anar Mammadli, a prominent human rights defender, leader of the country’s largest independent election watchdog and member of the Network of Human Rights Houses. Building Resilience of Civil Society in Ukraine: Wellbeing as a Cornerstone of Sustainability

As Russia’s war in Ukraine continues, the resilience of those affected is tested daily. The psychological toll on the Ukrainian population is profound, with widespread reports of trauma, anxiety, and stress-related disorders. Ukrainian civil society organisations have mobilised to provide critical support to those in need while often needing support themselves. HRHF asked the partners from the Network of Human Rights Houses about the connection between mental health and human rights and what kind of role mental health support plays in the resilience of Ukrainian civil society.
