Seminar ‘Human Rights and Psychiatry’
On the 13th of December, 2010 Independent Psychiatric Association of Russia (RRCHR) in cooperation with Moscow Helsinki Group (RRCHR) will organize a seminar ‘Human Rights and Psychiatry’ within the projects on the protection of people with mental disorders and prevention of tortures in closed establishments of Russia.

Human Rights Day at European Humanities University
The Belarusian university in exile in Lithuania is inviting everybody to contribute to the Human Rights Day by donating blood and signing a manifesto for visa-free movement.
Demonstration “Free Liu Xiaobo!”
The embassy will be handed over tens of thousands of signatures on the protest letter to Liu Xiaobo, collected in Norway and internationally.
The banners for the demonstration will call “Free Liu Xiaobo!” and “Free all Prisoners of conscience in China”.
Torchlight for Liu Xiaobo
The procession will start with speeches at Youngstorget and end in front of the Grand Hotel, where a picture of Liu Xiaobo will be projected throughout the hotel front in the absence of the Nobel Peace Prize winner on the balcony.
There will also be held torchlight processions in Trondheim and Kristiansand.
Mandates of the Public Supervising Committees of new calling
On the 14 of December in the building of Government of Moscow region new mandates of the Public Supervising Committees will be handing out.

Human Rights House Tbilisi is organizing the Human Rights Week from December 3 to 10 dedicated to the International Day for Human Rioghts.
December 3, at 13:00 – Working meeting with the women lawyers (Article 42 of the constitution);
December 6 at 12:00 – Documentary film on ICC – “The Reckoning” (moderator: Ana Natsvlishvili, the lawyer, HRIDC);
December 7 at 12:00 – Documentary film on photo-reporters “Shooting Under Fire” (moderator: Giorgi Kupatadze, the IWPR);
December 9 at 12:00 – Documentary film on violence against women – “The Return” (moderator: Natalia Zazashvili, the psychologist, Union Sapari) ;
December 10 at 13:00 – Documentary film on juvenile offenders – “Books not Bars” (moderator: Maia Tsiramua, the psychologist, GCRT);

HRHF and Article 19 in Strasbourg to lobby for Azeri journalist’s release
HRHF, represented by Vugar Goyaev, manager of HRH Baku, travels to Strasbourg today as part of an NGO delegation to lobby for Azeri journalist Eynulla Fatullayev’s release. Reporters Without Borders and the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers are also part of the joint advocacy effort.
