Invitation to the events on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day
Belarusian Human Rights House together with Freedom House invites you to the discussion “Spotlight on the Human Rights in Belarus: Challenges and Expectations before 2015” and the opening of the exhibition “Capital Punishment”. The event organized on the occasion of the International Human
Rights Day will take place on 9 December at 14:00 at the European Information Office of the Seimas (Seimas Building 3, Gedimino av. 53). The language of the event will be Russian and English with the translation to Lithuanian.

A seminar with prominent human rights defenders and journalists from Russia and Ukraine. The guests will talk about situation in their respective countries and the region, the human rights and freedom of expression situation, and the work that they do in order to improve the worsening situation.

The Special Rapporteur on human rights defenders, Michel Forst, is to present his first report to the General Assembly on 23 October 2014. The Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus, Miklós Harastzi, is to present a thematic report on human rights defenders in Belarus to the General Assembly.
This joint side-event aims at highlighting the role of human rights defenders in two neighbouring countries, Belarus and Ukraine.

On 26 September at 15.00 in the Barys Zvozskau Belarusian Human Rights House (Vilnius, Latako g.3) the photo exhibition “Revolution of dignity – in the heart of the events” will be opened, where the pictures of Kiev protests of the late 2013- early 2014 from a photographer Marianna Hardy (Chernihiv, Ukraine) will be presented.
