The partnership of the Foundation and the Wolters Kluwer Polska in the above-mentioned areas is aiming to undertake joint activities leading to the increase of human rights awareness as well as contributing to the raise of human rights’ protection standards in Poland.
According to the contract, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and Wolters Kluwer Polska would like to achieve the goals through, inter alia, organizing conferences, seminars and trainings for lawyers. They also agreed to cooperate with each other in the area of publishing, as selected texts prepared by the Foundation are going to be published by the Wolters Kluwer Polska.
“Problems of human rights protection remains strictly within the scope of our activities. Publications of the eminent experts, such as Marek Antoni Nowicki, co-founder of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, constitute a confirmation of our deep engagement in popularizing issues related to human rights. The problems are discussed extensively not only by means of traditional paper publications, but also online, on the websites such as e.g. Legal Information System LEX”, said Alicja Pollesch, the Strategic Director of the Wolters Kluwer Polska. “Within the cooperation lawyers of the Foundation will benefit from the LEX program. In addition, the publishing house Wolters Kluwer Polska will support the development of the Foundation’s library resources”.
“Working with Wolters Kluwer Polska is our chance to raise the efficiency of our activities”, said Adam Bodnar, the Secretary of the Board of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. “Support from the publishing house means the ability to distribute our publications devoted to issues of human rights protection to a big amount of recipients.”
The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights is one of the most experienced and professional civil society organization dealing with human rights in Europe. The Foundation is currently operating within two areas concerning human rights: education and monitoring programs.
