The Debating Film Club „Human Rights in Film” is about to begin. The inaugural meeting will take place on 5 April at 6 p.m. at the head office of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights.
On the upcoming Tuesday, there will be an opportunity to watch the films “The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo” (presented during the International Film Festival “Human Rights in Film” in 2002) and “The First Victim” (presented during the IFF “Human Rights in Film” in 2003). The first one is a story about one of the most famous peace protests, which took place in the 1970s at Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires in Argentina. The second one is a film about war, as well as fear and anger, but also fascination caused by killing. Discussions are scheduled after the screenings.
The Club is being organized by: Karol Grygoruk, Filip Grochowski and Monika Mlochowska, students, who completed the Human Rights Workshops for Students and currently co-operate with the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights as volunteers during the International Film Festival “Human Rights in Film”.
