The Soros Foundation jointly with the UN Development Program and the government of Azerbaijan will implement the next stage of the information program, Samir Aliverdiyev, the program head has told a news conference. (30 July 2004)


Aliverdiyev said that the 3-year program with the budget of $1.300 million targets providing the country’s scientific-research, educational and higher institutions as well as public organizations with information service.
The program head underlined that $265,000 grant had been allocated to the information program that was launched in 2001 through the Soros Foundation in 2004. The figure is expected to reach $267,000 in 2005.
In total, 335 grant projects have been financed within the program so far, with the largest grant amounted to $133,000 and the smallest one totaling $351.*
