The Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights organized 15th in a row School of Human Rights for Youth. The School was organized with the long term financial support from the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and Heinrich Boell Foundation. (07-JULY-07)

The School was held from June 27 until July 6 2007 on the island Cres and invited more than 20 pupils from different regions in Croatia. The participants were introduced with basic concepts related to human rights.

The program consisted of one-day thematic workshops such as Introduction to Human Rights, Individual and Collective Rights, Police and Human Rights and Forum Theatre. The participants demonstrated high level of interest for human rights topics.

-The School was enlightening and the moderators were excellent. It is the best experience in my life so far, said one of the participants in the evaluation form.

In addition, the School serves as a platform for recruiting new members to the Croatian Helsinki Committee Youth Group and invites pupils to take active part in civil society initiatives after the School. 

Within the Human Rights School project the CHC provided more than 500 pupils with basic human rights education over the past seven years
