A group of NGO members from different parts of the Russian Federation are taking part in a seminar devoted to various techniques of actions in public interest. The staff employees and voluntaries of the Helsinki Foundation are conducting the seminar for Human Rights. During the lectures and workshops the participants are getting familiar with philosophy of human rights and problems of monitoring. However, the main subject of the seminar is various techniques of actions in public interest. The attention of the participants is focused on the rules of planning and conducting such actions, as well as on the history and different forms of civil disobedience. An interesting part of the seminar has been a lecture on globalization. HFHR’s President Marek Nowicki, who guided the lecture, drew the listeners’ attention to different aspects of this complicated process. In this context also the problem of human rights and public actions was discussed. The seminar will last until 3 May.
