Because of this, the person was forbidden to take part in the recruitment process to join the Police, despite the fact that, according to the candidate, his condition had been completely cured.

In the Foundation’s view, excluding candidates from the recruitment process solely on the grounds of their army health category is dubious from the point of view of consistency with the constitutional anti-discriminatory provisions (article 32 item 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.) Such exclusion also seems irrational as the regulations state that the candidates’ physical fitness is to be tested twice during the recruitment process preceding employment in the Police.

“We kindly ask the Human Rights Defender to undertake actions leading to the removal of barriers in access to the Police jobs grounded on the candidates’ history of health conditions”, the official request reads.
