Lawyers from the aforementioned countries can submit applications for participation till 20 December 2009.

A one-year course developed by local and international experts will teach the participants to apply human rights concepts in their daily practice without leaving their homes, Russian being the working language of the training.

E-learning will be supported by two international conferences focusing on issues raised within the framework of the project. The conferences will be held at the Belarusian Human Rights House in Vilnius in the second half of 2010.

The project is part of International Law in Advocacy program by the Human Rights House Foundation (read more about the program in English and Russian).

Online distance training technology will be provided by the European Humanities University (former Belarusian independent university, now forced to function in exile in Vilnius, Lithuania). The Internet platform has been successfully used by the EHU since 2004 for teaching external and distance students.

The participating lawyers will also benefit from an electronic library put online specifically for the project participants. Though the primary target audience of the e-library are participants of the project “Electronic HR Education for Lawyers”, the library can be used by any lawyers, HR defenders, students, scholars, NGOs and others.
