The goal of the conference was to gather university students and young experts from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar and Banja Luka, for deepening discussions on widespread poverty issues. The problem of poverty is getting more and more real in BiH with current economic difficulties as well as the nonexistence of an organized and stimulating market enviroment. Such a situation has been affecting the development of potential workforce in BiH, and all economic researches that were made in BiH showed that poverty level is in growth.

Faced with low chancesof getting a job, more and more young and educated people are starting to express their will to leave the country. This problem is addressing authorities for a long period, but the constant of unemployment is in rage. This happens in time when country needs more educated and committed people in the process of socioeconomic development toward the European integration process. The country also needs a stimulating environment for the development of labour market. It is necessary, therefore, to put forward specific policy suggestions from students and young people on their perspectives and concerns on poverty reduction and their potential roles.

The conference has opened up discussions for policy suggestions from university faculty members and students. Their recommendations and “voices” will be shared with the BiH Governments and wider youth population in the country. A documentary on today’s event will be broadcast by local TV stations from Sarajevo and Banja Luka. This and other similar events could serve as an example for other countries.
