On 3 September judge of Minsk Tsentralny Borough Court Natallia Vaytsiakhovich declined the complaint of Vera Stramkowskaya, attorney of the public activist Mikhail Marynich with the request to find illegal the prolongation of the detention term at investigative ward for Marynich, who is charged with illegal storage of arms.
By this complaint Vera Stramkowskaya tried to get Marynich released. She referred to absence of active investigation and said it was quite doubtful he would escape in the case the restraint was changed. The judge agreed with the ruling of prosecutor’s office, according to which Marynich will be kept in the investigative ward of KGB till at least 26 September (he was detained on 26 April).
According to Stramkowskaya, the state of Marynich’s health has deteriorated: he often complains about heartache.
