Ukraine appears to be heading for a new election to resolve the dispute over last month´s run-off presidential poll. (02-DEC-04)

Rival candidates Viktor Yushchenko and Viktor Yanukovych have agreed to seek a solution once the Supreme Court rules on electoral fraud allegations. According to the BBC, the court should reach a decision on Thursday or Friday.

Mr Yushchenko´s opposition movement has agreed to end the blockade of official buildings in the capital Kiev. However, he has asked his supporters to stay in the streets until a new election date is agreed.
