On the 10th of March a group of young people, who participated in the seminar “Youth Against Racism, Xenophobia and Anti-Semitism”, left Warsaw. 16 students from all over Poland worked together for 5 days, reflecting on what exactly xenophobia is and how it should be combated.(12-MAR-04)
The seminar was composed of: workshops and discussions on the subject matter of sources of bias against strangers, experts´ lectures on racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism, meetings with social activists, researchers of these issues, journalists, non-government organization representatives, film demonstrations, and finally workshops concerning methods of successfully acting in the public interest. In conclusion the symposium´s participants prepared their own projects of counteractions against racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism. The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights will allocate mini-grants to authors of best projects which will enable their implementation.
