Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in B&H in cooperation with Norweigian Helsinki Committee, organizes the conference on topic “Challenges and practice of education reform and realization of human rights in Bosnia & Herzegovina ( B&H )”.
The aim of the conference is to intensify and support the dialogue and exchange of experiences between main factors of educational system in B&H. School bodies that are invited to the conference are: boards of the schools, parents’ councils, students’ councils, responsible ministries, and NGOs that deal with the rights of the child.
Dialogue and exchange of experiences with aim to ensure better quality of education in coherence with democratic principles, will lead to educational standards and principles from the international agreements that B&H has signed: International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Convention on the Rights of the Child, Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
The conference consists of two modules:
– International standards and principles in the area of education – speaker will be Diana Sehic, the lawyer from Sarajevo
– Challenges and practice in the education reform in B&H – speaker will be Branka Raguz, Ombudsman in Sarajevo
Moderator of the conference / seminar is Branka Inic, legal advisor in the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in B&H.
