“We do not operate with abstract concepts or large forms. When speaking about inconvenient topics, we mean not only dangerous, tabooed or controversial subjects, but also something usually treated as insignificant details or too personal. We remember that personal is political.

We do not try to solve global problems of humankind. We realize there are no universal questions, but there are questions we ask ourselves every day. And looking for our own answer to them is more important for us than a ready one proposed by “experts”. History is not what others will tell on behalf of us. History is what we will tell ourselves. Take a camera – and your voice will be heard!” – the organizers of the Knopka Vyzova say.

The festival will last till 30 November. The program includes shows of young Belarusian and Lithuanian beginning moviemakers’ films, as well as master-classes and meeting older colleagues – experts on film theory and practice, well-know in both countries. The competent jury is entitled to select and award the best of the debuts.
