Eduard Lobau was imprisoned for exactly four years. His friends, supporters and journalists gathered to meet him in Ivatsevichy. As Eduard reported after he was released, back in 2011 he was offered three times to write a petition for pardon, but he refused then, and since nobody ever talked to him about this.
As he was subjected to preventive supervision, Lobau says he does not know yet what he will do now, but he highlighted that his views have not changed in prison and he will continue being engaged in socio-political activities.
Lobau was detained along with Zmitser Dashkevich on 18 December, 2010, the day before the presidential elections.
According to the police investigation, they allegedly beat Kanstantsin Savitsky and Aleh Malyshau in the courtyard of an apartment house on the Yanka Bryl street. However, these unemployed people have never appeared in court in person.
Their detention was considered as a preventive measure ahead of the presidential election. On 24 March, 2011 Lobau was sentenced to four years imprisonment in the special regime colony, and Dashkevich – to two years.
