From 15th December there is an opportunity to see at the Dom Kultury Srodmiescie Nick Danziger’s photography exhibition CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE.
The exhibition aims to attract attention to the multitude of ways in which wars touch women’s lives. Danziger traveled to 5 regions of the world to better acquaint himself with the fate of women whose everyday task is staying alive. Nick Danziger’s photos are the part of the International Committee of the Red Cross’s project called Women Facing War, which the main aim is to raise the public awarness of the impact of armed conflict on the daily lives of women.
The photos, which portray 11 women, is composed of 22 photographs and 11 documentary short films, thematically linked to the resolutions of the Geneva Conventions – documents of international humanitarian law respecting armed conflicts.
Nick Danziger, being also a journalist, writer, filmmaker and painter, is an acclaimed photographer, among many awards having first prize in the portrait category of the World Press Photo 2004.
The exhibition was an accompanying event to the 5th International Film Festival “Human Rights in Film”.
