Tomorrow, the 7th of August, is the day before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Beijing. The Norwegian Tibet Committee joins a grassroot campaign called ‘Candle for Tibet’ and urges people to light a candle in solidarity with all oppressed people in Tibet. During the opening of a Tibet-exhibition by ‘Galleri Lyskassa’ in Oslo Chundak Koren, general secretary of the Norwegian Tibet Committee, will give a speech. Afterwards there will be a vollective lighting of candles at Nedre Vollgate 9 at 7:00 PM.

Candle For Tibet is a non-profit, non-violent grassroots campaign that aims to help in the process of Freeing Tibet. Candle for Tibet aims to establish the largest light protest in mankind and urges everyone around the world to join in. The Dalai Lama has given his blessing on the protest, which is a solidarity action for all oppressed people in the People´s Republic of China.
