Hadis’s arrest was effected after local residents reported to the CID headquarters having seen the journalist, film the sight of the bombings. The residents also reportedly informed the CID officers that Hadis visited the house raided by Somaliland police after the bombing.  Omar Faruk Osman, NUSOJ Secretary General when issuing a press statement said, believing and arresting anybody with camera or seen filming such attack and is labeled a terrorist is intolerable. healso demanded for the release of Hadis Mohammed immediately and unconditionally or havehe charged with a recognizably offence before an independent court. His statement follows a statement made by Somaliland police were Hadis was considered a security threat to Somaliland.  Omar Faruk said that any accusations made against a journalist should be stated openly and dealt with fairly and quickly. On 29th October, Somaliland police in plainclothes also detained Mohammed Ahmed Ige, Editor of Maandeeq Newspaper and Abdullah Said Muhammad, reporter of same media house.  Omar Faruk called on Somaliland state to prevent its security agencies from suppressing media freedom, particularly at this time of soaring tensions.  He also said such events send a chill through the spines of journalists in Somaliland, who are already very susceptible to violence and intimidation.  Attacks against journalists and self-censorship among the media in Somaliland increased since the dual bombings. Somaliland security officers instruct journalists to avoid telling cases relating to security of Somaliland.
