In the offices of Center for Youth Work and Informal Education ( CORNO ) in Doboj, fifteen participants had a chance, through interactive workshops, presentations and researches, to get familiarized more with following topics: sex and gender, gender equality in B&H and in the world, gender and/or sex-based violence.
As symbolic ending of this education program, participants have marked the May 17th – International Day of Against Homophobia. By various performances that represented the life stories of world heroines such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Martina Navratilova, Rosa Parks and Marie Curie, the importance of the roles of these courageous women that have marked the history with their work and courage, has been once again, pointed out.
Analyzing the situation in its local community, the participants have pointed out that in Doboj municipality there is a need for more various art content, especially for the space for art/artistic events that will make possible for young activists to get to know with the achievements from the region and world, and create basis for cooperation with other activist and/or artistic groups. Trainers of the education program were the activists from Foundation CURE, Taida Horozovic and Milena Nikolic.
The next seminar within the CURE initiative „Knowing your rights and herstory, empower and activate yourself!“ will gather the participants from Sarajevo, and it will be organized on May 24th in the offices of Education-Amusement Center Spajalica at Ilidza.
The aim of the education program is to gather the group of young women in B&H who will be the carriers of the positive changes in their local communities. Within the education program, local actions will be realized as well, and trainees will have the opportunity to attend the training technique of Theater Forum (theatre of oppressed) where they will learn and create „her story“ in a practical way.
