Delegation of Norwegian National Assembly
On the 9th of April a delegation from the Norwegian National Assembly visited the Russian Research Center for Human Rights on a fact-finding trip to Moscow. During the meeting the center’s activists along with representatives of the non- governmental, human rights organization “Memorial” were introduced. Russian human rights activists explained to the members of Norwegian National Assembly the specific features of their work and the problems growing in this field of activity from the past years. In the meeting discussions took place about issues concerning human rights violations in the Russian Federation, in particular: children’s rights and conscript’s rights. Special attention was given to the Chechen Republic, where Russian human rights activists work on a regular basis.
