Detained journalist of ‘Free Word’ newspaper Nadezhda Nizovkina and an editor of ‘Vsemu Naperekor’ newspaper Natalia Filonova spent round 7 hours in the police station.
Police men did not have any ground for interference but they detained several participants urgentlyafter a call from Deputy Head of Ulan-Ude Administration.
Detention went along with physical damage to the detainees in spite of the fact that Natalia Filonova commands deputative immunity and both women have journalist’s certificates.
Within both protest actions the participants demanded to stop criminal cases against members of Democratic Union and Co-Chairwoman of Buryatia ‘Solidarnost’ Nizovkina and Stetsura otherwise to bring the powers to the same responsibility in accordance with the same Article of the Criminal Code.
Protest actions on the 30th of October served as a pretext for Burytia Prosecutor’s Office to warn Nizovkina about prohibition of extremist action with the aim to upset the action.
On the 14th of October HR defenders gathered in Moscow at Chitoprudnyi Bulvar to support Nizovkina nd Stetsura. The participants also disseminated leaflets with the latest kidnappings on the North Caucuses.
