Mrs. Kesang Takla, the representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Northern and Central Europe, paid a visit to Poland on 10 – 12 January 2007. Mrs. Takla arrived in Poland at the invitation of the parliamentary Polish-Tibetan Team and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. (16-JAN-06)

During her visit to Poland, Mrs. Takla met with Sejm Marshall Marek Jurek, as well as with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chancellory of the President of the Republic of Poland. “I was moved by the compassion and understanding that Mr. Marek expressed for the peaceful struggle of the Tibetan people for the right to their own culture, religion and human rights observance”, stated Mrs. Takla after her meeting with the Marshall of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Marek Jurek.

The Warsaw School of Social Psychology, Warsaw University and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights organized a meeting with Mrs. Takla at the Warsaw School of Social Psychology, during which she delivered a lecture on “Tibet. Prospects”.
