On Tuesday 28 June, the Women’s Issues Group within the Norwegian Council for the Rights of the Kurdish People, one of the organisations in the Norwegian Human Rights House in Oslo, will host a seminar on the women’s situation in Kurdistan. Board member of the Norwegian Council for the Rights of the Kurds Shilan Abdulgani and Information Manager Liv Kjølseth have recently returned from both Iraqi and Turkish Kurdistan. The delegation the two were part of met with women?s organisations, visited crisis centres and women?s initiatives, and raised the particular needs of women with several members of the local government for Iraqi Kurdistan. Abdulgani and Kjølseth will present pictures, answer questions and share their impressions from their recent visit to Kurdistan.
