Third winter school for human rights
Moscow Helsinki Group(RRCHR) together with International Youth Human Rights Movement within the educational program “International school for human rights and democracy” announce call for proposals for the participation in the Third School for Human Rights (21-28 February 2010). Those who are interested in participation can submit applications till 30th January 2010.
Winter School for Human Rights will be held in the form of in an interactive seminar. The course will be provided by trainers and consultants from Moscow Helsinki Group as well as other Russian and International experts who will focus on the following issues:
• introduction of theory and philosophy of human rights;
• history of human rights movement in the Soviet Union, Russia, Europe and in the world;
• national and international mechanisms of human rights protection;
• judicial and extrajudicial mechanism of human rights protection;
• actions for human rights protection;
• current problems and challenges of international system of HR protection;
• management and development strategies of human rights and public organizations;
• new methods of human rights protection;
• contemporary human rights movement and strategies of its further development;
• strategies of integration humanism as counteraction to xenophobia, discrimination intolerance.
The training includes facultative part “Films for human rights”, presentation of social projects of HCO and discussions on the role of human rights protection in the process of civil society development. The participants are welcome to prepare facultative parts of their own.
Who are invited?
Human rights defenders, young representatives of public organizations and state bodies, activists of youth public and students’ organizations, representatives of law students’ clinics of Russia. The candidates must not be older then 35. The priority is given to the candidates without human rights education of the kind but experienced in the sphere of human rights protection.
Education is free. Travelling expenses, hotels and meals are to be reimbursed.
