al-Khaznawi was a key figure of the democratic opposition in Syria. As a Kurdish Moslem, he was also a moderate intellectual and campaigner for human rights in his country.
The meeting will be opened by al-Khaznawi´s son, who has been living in Norway in recent years. The meeting will be conducted in Norwegian, but with translation into Arabic. RKR´s Director Vidar Birkeland will chair the meeting, while the translation will be done by Ahmed Hajo.
