The international judicial system must be strengthened in order to end impunity for crimes against humanity and war crimes. This is the recommendation of the Oslo Declaration on Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes, signed by a number of human rights defenders worldwide. (10 September)
The declaration was presented at the first state party Meeting to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in early September. It criticizes the US bilateral agreements concerning immunity from prosecution by the ICC of US citizens. Read more
